Lanzhou

　　Now the provincial capital of Gansu,Lanzhou known as Jincheng in the old days has a history of more than 2,000 years and was an important post along the silk Road.It is a communications pivot with airlines linking 26 cities including Beijing ,Shanghai, Guangzhou,Xi'an and Urumqi and flights to Dunhuang and Jiayuguan in the province as well as railways forming part of the national network. When starting from Lanzhou along Highway No.312 by car ,one will soon enter the Hexi Corridor,the golden section of the Silk Road.
